AlmondsAlmonds are one of my favourite seeds to eat! They are so nutritious for you and just eating a little goes a long way! They are high in good fats, protein and vitamin E.

The wonderful thing about almonds is they can be eaten whole or ground to be used as almond flour, which is a great addition to any cake. Almond oil is also wonderful for your skin either for massage or as a moisturiser!

 

Benefits


Almonds are an amazing source of Vitamin E which in the body its primary function is as an antioxidant to stabilise cell membranes. 

A good source of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids which both help to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Omega 3 fatty acids in particular help to lower blood pressure and reduce inflammation.

They are a great source of B2 (Riboflavin) which is used for energy metabolism in the body.

A fantastic source of Manganese which helps with bone formation and is a cofactor for enzymes.

A great source of Phosphorus which is part of every cell and is important in genetic material.

Also a great source of Protein which is a
 building block for most of the body’s structures, helps to regulate fluid balance and as antibodies.

An alternative dairy source of Calcium which is important for mineralisation of bones and teeth, nerve functioning and blood clotting.

Another good source of Magnesium which supports bone mineralisation, normal muscle contraction and immune system function.
